A Roadside Stop with Teeth

The Bottle and Blade is more than a simple tavern on the road. Travellers find a bar, private upstairs rooms, and a shared bunk room for those watching their coin. It can serve as a welcome rest stop, a rough meeting place, or the last warm light before danger closes in.

The Roadway Crossing

The nearby road crosses a stream, creating a natural pause in the journey. The raised ground above the crossing gives archers, scouts, bandits, or worse an ideal place to strike. It is a flexible encounter scene for ambushes, patrols, robberies, monster attacks, or tense negotiations beside the water.

Trouble Below the Tavern

Behind a concealed door in the kitchen storeroom, stairs descend into a private gambling den. Below the noise of the tavern, guests wager coin, favours, and pride around a prize fight cage. Whether the heroes come looking for information, a missing traveller, or a fight of their own, the Bottle and Blade has plenty happening beneath the floorboards.

Note:

This release is a scene pack only. It includes the mapped location and levels setup for Foundry VTT v14, but does not include a written adventure, encounters, NPCs, or story content. It is intended as a flexible location that a GM can drop into their own campaign and develop as needed.

Description

A day’s ride from town, the Bottle and Blade waits beside the road, offering warmth, drink, beds, and trouble in equal measure.

This scene pack includes two detailed multi-level locations: a roadway with a stream crossing and ambush-ready high ground, and a roadside tavern with rooms above and a hidden gambling den below. Built for exploration, roleplay, and sudden violence, the Bottle and Blade is ready to drop into any fantasy campaign where the road is never quite safe.
